Downers Grove Overview

A Small Town Near a Big City
Just 19 miles from Chicago, Downers Grove, Illinois, has about 50,000 residents. Metra commuter rail provides easy access into Chicago for work or entertainment.

Festivals and Community Events
Downers Grove hosts an annual Heritage Festival each June. There's also an informal Friday night antique car show downtown all summer. In January, there's an ice sculpture competition. As in many smaller towns, the high school sports scene is a big draw to the community, especially when the town's two high schools face off.

Entertainment and Recreation
The Downers Grove Public Golf course has been around for more than a century and is the oldest such course west of the Allegheny Mountains. There are several parks in the town including Constitution Park, Randall Park and Patriot's Park for biking, hiking and picnicking.

Downer's Grove is a pleasant town to live in that keeps the advantages of the city close at hand.
